Brighten the day of a homebound senior by delivering hot Meals on Wheels on weekday mornings! Requirements: Each volunteer must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. Volunteers should arrive at MIFA between 9:30 and 10 a.m. Monday through Friday to begin delivering meals. Each car will carry two coolers containing food items, and MIFA staff will provide directions through the meals route. Delivering an entire route takes approximately 1-1.5 hours. Background checks are required for all Meals on Wheels volunteers.

Catholic Charities Fig Tree Food Pantry Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to sort, bag, greet, and distribute food to needy families. Ideal commitment is 6 hours a month. Contact: Lucie Johnson, Coordinator of Supportive Services, 901-722-4797 Our food pantry, at 85 North Cleveland, see families referred to us from MIFA, CCWTN veterans and immigration programs, and Red Cross emergency services. 12 to 15 families, sometimes with as many as half a dozen children, are seen every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday between the hours of 9am and Noon. A small group of dedicated volunteers is on hand each day to greet and serve our guests. We would enjoy having YOU consider joining with US in this ministry.
